Guardianship and Conservatorship Services

Care Connect of Hampton Roads has been helping families with Guardianship and Conservatorship Services for more than 15 years in Virginia Beach, Norfolk, Chesapeake, Portsmouth, Suffolk, Hampton, Newport News, Williamsburg, and throughout Hampton Roads.

Families count on founder Christina Drumm-Boyd and her lawyers to smoothly navigate the court process and provide compassionate and experienced guardian and conservator help.

By providing both Guardianship and Conservatorship services we make it easy on family members who are far from their loved one or do not have the time it takes to handle the day-to-day personal affairs (Guardianship) and financial affairs (Conservatorship) of a senior loved one.

As a Conservator we are appointed by the Court, which has legal authority to manage the financial affairs of an adult the Court has found to need a conservator. Conservators are in control of assets and can make all financial decisions, including how bills will be paid.

As a Guardian we are appointed by the Court, which is responsible for an adult’s personal affairs. Responsibilities may include making decisions about support, care, health, safety, education, treatment and residence.

As a Guardian, we:

• Understand the special trust that is placed in us
• Act only in the person’s best interest
• Stay in close contact with your loved one so we know about his or her capabilities, limitations, needs, support, and opportunities. We also keep track of our visits, in case you have any questions.

As a Conservator, we:

• Understand the special trust that is placed in us
• Act only in the person’s best interest
• Carefully manage any assets under our responsibility
• Maintain good records about how we fulfill your duties
• Take care of and preserve the person’s estate and manage it to the person’s best advantage
• Pay bills
